Hiking Through Cinque Terre

JR: One of my favorite trips while studying abroad so far has been visiting the towns of Cinque Terre.  On Saturday morning a group of us planned to hike the trails through a couple of the towns.  We left from Levanto and took a quick train to Corniglia which was three towns over.  We started our hike in the beautiful little town of Corniglia after getting breakfast in a local café where I was able to order actual eggs and bacon!  My morning was off to a great start and the day only got better due to the amazing views I was surrounded by.  The hike from Corniglia to Vernazza was absolutely breathtaking with views of the sparkling sea on the left and wooded hilly areas on the right.  I saw many different wild species of plants, gorgeous wild flowers, and even cacti!  When we made it to Vernazza we hiked down to the rocky beach and watched the waves crash into the cliffs just taking in how pretty everything was.  The hike from Vernazza to Monterosso was a little more of a trek, but definitely still worth it! The trail was up and down constantly, crossing little creaks, and winding all around the mountains.  Monterosso was the perfect place to end a gorgeous hike where we all laid out on the beach and enjoyed the rest of the day together.
